MESSAGE:
“Traditionally, April 1, has been a day of pranks. Commonly referred to as April Fools Day, it is used as a day when the goal is to put friends and acquaintances in awkward situations. For a moment, perhaps brief the victims make public fools of themselves. It is not known for sure where this tradition originated. Mr. Frank Klassen, who has done extensive research into the chronological dating of the Bible suggests that Fools Day had its beginning with the celebration of the birth of Christ. Mr. Klassen states that Jesus was born April 1, 5 BC (not December 25). His theory concludes that because of the derision directed at the Jesus Christ and those who remembered His true birthday, it developed into a “Fools Day.” This is only one man’s theory but it does parallel the Bible.
“The “fool” hath said in his heart, there is no God.”
Psalms 14:1
The Bible tells us that the preaching of the cross is foolishness in the eyes of natural man.
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness: but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”
1 Corinthians 1:18
A person can deny the existence of God, but the Word of God says that the one who does so perishes a fool. The Bible holds out the answer in the Person of Jesus Christ and His shed blood. It is not necessary to hold onto the foolishness, but rather God has provided a way for man to come to Him. It is necessary that we recognize that we are indeed sinners, (fools).
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23
And the just reward for that sin is death, eternal separation from God.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23
But despite our sin, God loved us and gave His Son for us;
“But God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
Christ Jesus came and took upon Himself the sins of the world and shed His blood as the payment for sin. All mankind has to do is accept God’s free gift of eternal life, by faith, believing that Christ died for you.
“Moreover brethren I declare unto you the Gospel…by which you are saved…for I delivered unto you…that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
The Gospel is simple, and the one condition to salvation is simple belief in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work on Calvary.
“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”
Romans 4:5
“For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God: not of works lest any man should boast.”
Ephesians 2:8,9
You can be saved, even now, as you read this tract by simply believing that Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again. By faith, accept God’s gift of salvation. Don’t be as the fool who says there is no God, and then dies in his foolishness.
Don’t delay……….ACCEPT CHRIST TODAY!
