Description
Get someone to stop and think about their eternity. Their life depends on it. Comes in a pack of 24.
MESSAGE:
“Have you ever given thought that you might be wrong about your feelings about tomorrow, about your eternity, about Heaven and Hell? Everyone has an opinion about the subject. Some deny anything beyond the grave; others view Heaven as the reward for being good and Hell is where you go if you are evil, murderers and the like. Wherever you are in your personal thought process, it will dictate how you live out your life in the here and now. Chief among many is the avoidance of evil. Live a good life, help your neighbor and don’t steal, murder or commit some other heinous crime. Accompanying this is the philosophy, “Eat, drink and be merry.” Some view Hell as a place where they will carry on their lifestyle of festivities with all of their friends. But what if you are wrong?
Still others seek solace in religion and its good deeds. Hell is avoided and Heaven is gained through good works, benevolence and the rewards from a loving God. These folks regularly attend church, serve on church boards, carry out community service, clothe and feed the poor and needy and are generally good people. Their expectation for this grand effort of generosity is the reward of a Heavenly home. But what if you are wrong?
Is there an answer? If so, where can we find it? There is only one true source for an answer to this dilemma and that is the Word of God. Man’s opinions will differ from one another and while each may feel comfortable with his conclusion, the fact is there can only be one true answer: ONE TRUTH! And that truth can only be found in the Scriptures.
How do we gain Heaven? What does the Word of God say?
I’ll be a good person.
“There is none righteous, no not one. There is none that doeth good, no not one.”
(Romans 3:10, 12)
I’ll earn my way; I’ll work my way.
“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”
(Romans 4:5)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
(Ephesians 2:8-9)
You see friend, good people, benevolent people, and hard-working religious people don’t go to Heaven. Entrance into Heaven is not won or lost based upon a meritorious scale, but rather Heaven is gained by faith alone. The Scriptures quoted above clearly teach that works play no role in our eternal destination but, rather, is solely based upon one’s faith. It is one’s faith that is counted for righteousness.
The Apostle Paul was moved by the Holy Spirit to pen these words of Scripture:
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”
(1 Corinthians 15:1-4)
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
(Romans 10:9)
You see friend, it is not what you have done, or continually do that will get you to Heaven, Heaven is based upon your faith in what Christ has already done for you; His death, burial and resurrection. This is THE truth of the Word of God.
Now, what if I am wrong and all good people go to Heaven? Well then, I guess I’ll see you there. Continue to labor in your religion and party with your friends. But what if you’re wrong? If I am wrong we all go to Heaven. If you’re wrong the party will be over and your eternity in the Lake of Fire will be sealed.
“And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and Hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and Hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
(Revelation 20:11-15)
A day of judgment is coming but now is the day of decision, what will yours be?
It’s Your Decision
“To declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that He might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.”
(Romans 3:26)
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
(Romans 10:13)
WHAT IT YOU’RE WRONG?
Friend, if I am wrong I’ve lost nothing at all, but if you are wrong you’ve lost everything.”
