A POEM
In eternity past God had a plan
To send His son in the form of man;
Born of a virgin, God’s only Son,
The God-man Saviour He had become.

A substitute for sinners He did go,
To Calvary’s Cross: He loved us so,
In death, the sinners place He took;
Now from His throne He anxiously looks.
Seeking to save those lost in sin
Who in faith, will come to Him.

One day, and it won’t be long,
We’ll hear the shout: break into song!
Jesus will come His own to receive
Crowned “King” by those who believe
A thousand years we’ll reign on earth;
A grand preparation for eternity’s birth.

That, my dear friend, is “love.”
John 3:16
AN EXPLANATION:
In eternity past, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit had a council meeting (Isa. 48:16-17). One of the many things that came out of this council was a wonderful plan to give, by grace, forgiveness of sin and eternal life to every believing member of the human race (Eph. 2:8-9).

The plan called for God the Son to become a sinless member of the human race thru the virgin birth (Gen. 3:15; Isa. 9:14; Mt. 1:20-23). God is love (1 Jn. 4:8,16) and it is this great love that compels God the Father to be the greatest giver in the universe (Jas. 1:17). Jesus Christ was God the Father’s greatest love gift to the world (Jn. 3:16; 1 Jn. 4:9-10; 2 Cor. 9:15). He was love personified.

Jesus was unique in that He was both God and man in one person forever (1 Tim. 2:5) and as such, He was qualified to be a substitute for sinners. The Bible calls this a “great mystery” (1 Tim. 3:16).

Christ was so identified with humanity that His death was our death, His burial was our burial, His resurrection was our resurrection (Rom. 6:3-6; Heb. 2:9), thus paying the sinner’s sin debt in full (Col. 2:13-15).

With His work for salvation finished Heb. 9:26; 10:10), He returned to Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father (Acts 2:30-35), waiting to save believing sinner (Heb. 7:25), who will ca11 upon Him in prayer (Rom. 10:13).

The sinner, upon believing in Jesus Christ, becomes a child of God (Jn. 1:12), and as a child of God an heir and joint of all things with Jesus Christ (Rom. 8: l7 ). The believer also receives the hope (confident expectation) of a glorious resurrection with a resurrection body exactly like Christ’s (Phil. 3:20-21). This will occur when Jesus Christ returns for believers.

We will then be face to face with Him; first to rule and reign with Him for a thousand years in His earthly Kingdom (2 Tim. 2:12; Rev. 20:6).

Then to reign with Him forever and forever in eternity future, with a new heaven and a new earth wherein righteousness dwells (Rev. 21:7; 22:5; 2 Pet. 3:13).
Have you taken advantage of God’s wonderful plan of Grace? Have you experienced God’s wonderful love? Are you prepared for eternity future? If not, why not?

There is only one preparation for eternity and that is to cast aside all other confidences and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation (Acts 16:31). To fail in preparing for eternity with God, means an eternity without God forever in the Lake of Fire (Rev. 20:11-15). Why not bow your head and heart right now and tell God the Father that you are trusting Jesus to be your Saviour?
