Dear Friends and Co-Laborers,
We send you greetings in that One called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
This past year has been filled with the blessings of the Lord; we are rich beyond degree. 2014 closed with a truly blessed trip to South Africa there we met and ministered to some magnificent believers. Each time we have been privileged to travel abroad we have returned blessed. To see what the Lord is doing beyond the American church is truly an eye-opening experience.
Throughout the winter and into the spring, we were busy filling in as “Interim” pastor at the Croton Community Church. Matt Ritchey had accepted the call to join the staff of BDTLB as our Director of Youth and Family Ministries, as well as the pastorate of the Croton church. They would not arrive until the end of May, thus I filled in at the church. Again it was a blessing to briefly get back into the pastoral saddle.
Our itinerant ministry continues to be blessed of the Lord. This past year we have traveled many thousands of miles sharing the ministry of BDTLB, the Word of God, and the glorious Gospel of the Grace of God. In the twelve weeks of summer, we conducted seven Vacation Bible Schools from Sioux Falls, SD to Duncansville, PA., two weeks of Cowboy Camps, a Bible conference, and preached in several churches. The fall schedule included two Islam Seminars, two Bible conferences, a mission’s conference, and a couple of pulpit fills, not to mention laboring in the office producing literature.
This fall we were also afforded a week’s vacation courtesy of a few dear friends. A couple gave us a week’s lodging in Branson, MO., and others purchased tickets for the shows. One show we enjoyed immensely was the production of Jonah at the Sight and Sound Theater. Over the years we have seen many plays at their Lancaster, (PA) theater and have always enjoyed and appreciated the production, as well as the presentation of the Gospel at the close. This was no different and the production of this Biblical event was splendid to say the least. Thank you to our friends and supporters who made this time of R&R possible.
Now we are fast approaching the end of the year, soon the holidays will be upon us, and we will be caught up in all of the hustle and bustle of the season. But through all of that, we never lose sight of the real reason for the season and that is Jesus Christ. The real meaning for the season is not found in Christmas; rather, it is found and celebrated on that great Resurrection day, celebrating His death, burial and resurrection, for Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners (1 Tim. 1:15). It is this message of great hope and peace that causes us to do what we do. This year, with your financial assistance and prayerful support, we were blessed to see over 80 kids and 15 adults indicate that they had placed their faith in Christ. One needs no other reason than that to press on in ministry.
None of this would be possible without your faithful prayers and support. It is knowing that you are standing with us that helps us continue on. For that we offer you our sincerest love and appreciation.
From our hearts to you we send the warmest greetings for this Christmas season and our sincerest prayer for the Lord’s richest grace to rest upon and guide you in His service in the coming New Year … A very Merry Christmas and a Happy Christ-filled New Year.
Keep Looking Up
