Darlene graduated from Arizona Bible Institute with a diploma in
Christian Education. She married Lee Homoki in 1960 and they have been
in the ministry together since then serving 5 churches until the
beginning of the Ministry of Bible Doctrines to Live By, Inc. in 1981.
Darlene is the Secretary/Bookkeeper of Bible Doctrines. The Homoki’s
have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
It's exciting to be a part of this ministry and I pray God will use me to touch the lives of all those God sends our way
Thursday, September 1st,Lee and
I arrived at home in Grand Rapids, Michigan just briefly, but long enough to get
some blueberries and corn in the freezer, defrost the freezer, and the regular
household duties - laundry, cooking, cleaning, as well as some much needed yard
work. Lee worked on his studies in the morning and then in the afternoon on
projects around home. There was a lot of yard work to be done and cleaning and
organizing the garage and then he and our son, Steve, resurfaced the driveway.
That was a major job it looked good when they got done.
On July 18th, we arrived
back in Grand Rapids on safe and sound and, would have a week or so to get ready
for our next meetings in Ashtabula, Ohio it seems all I got done was to unpack,
do laundry and pack again. But, I did have time to go to the office a couple
days and then I did take time to make some strawberry freezer jam. But, there is
always something to keep us busy. I am currently working on setting up a
Commentary on the Book of Galatians by Marvin Duncan, preparing to give
it to Jan and Joel for printing. I did finish the commentary by Marvin Duncan on
Ephesians and Colossians over the summer also and will soon be in
print..
Victory Cowboy Camp in Livonia, Missouri is now
history. It was a great camp and we were impressed with the young people's
interest and participation in the Bible Study times. All in all it was a
wonderful camp and ended with a rain storm on Saturday Morning so we could not
have the "Show-De-O". So, we went to the Camp Chapel and had a brief service,
then had the awards and trophy presentations.
I had a most wonderful time in DesMoines with Cari and Frank but
especially did I enjoy the two little ones, Giovanni and Chloe. I loved
Giovanni's smile and little Chloe was so special and liked to be held and rocked
- just what Grandma's are made for.
Here is a short update on what we
have been doing. This winter we have spent our time getting some much needed
work done around our home. It seems there is always a "honey do" list that never
gets tackled properly because we are gone so much. Plus, the correspondence
piles up and patiently waits until Lee gets opportunity to sit down and think
through it all. Then, there are the new studies and preparations for preaching
that need done. So we keep busy.
The month of May kept us busy in Grand Rapids
with correspondence, e-mails, phone calls, mailings, scheduling camps and staff
and planning for the Cowboy Family Camp, which was our first camp to be
held in Hermann, Missouri. It seems there is never enough time to get everything
done. On May 30th we packed up and Norman and Beverly Price
came over and helped us. Paul McGarvey was also there. Paul was going to
be one of our "Bible Buckaroos" and travel with us for the summer.
Your prayers and fellowship is both appreciated and needed. It has
been a long time since I've sent out a Ministry Update. It really was not
intentional. I had one all done complete with pictures and everything when my
computer "crashed" this summer and I lost everything. So, now as we near the end
of our travels for the year I thought I'd best sit down and send you an update
of our activities.
I had every good intention of not getting behind in writing the Up-Dates, BUT good intentions don’t get the job done. Here it is October already. The leaves have changed color and are gently falling. It is a beautiful time of year but we also know that cold and snow are not far behind.
Greetings! It has been a long time since I did a diary. Time and projects have a unique way of getting away from me and I don't get things done like I should. Well, since I last up-dated you, a lot has gone on.
In May we had the Trail Ride on the Sante Fe Trail in Colorado. Although I didn't ride, I went along to make sure there was some grub when they arrived back in camp.
Well, the much anticipated Christmas season and New Year’s has come and gone and we are already well into the year 2008. We did have a great Christmas with our four granddaughters. We had our Christmas on Christmas Eve. It started with the Candlelight Christmas Service at Rush Creek Bible Church. That was a refreshing hour of blessing. Then we went on back to our home for dinner and And then, Christmas Day we were invited to go to our good friends Dave and Mary Plaggemars, and have dinner with them. We enjoyed that very much too.

We are on the road again! As usual, it was hectic getting started. I started gathering things together early hoping to avoid the last minute rush. Lee got the motor home out of the garage, vacuumed it all out and cleaned the carpet before taking it in to get the oil changed and a grease job. We were right on schedule and the motor home would be back on Wednesday, June 6th which would leave us two days to get things put in and organized. Well, best laid plans sometimes never work.

Dear praying and concerns friends!
Here it is the first week of June already. We are almost all packed up and ready to leave for our summer ministry. The trailer with all the "stuff" in it for Cowboy Camp is ready and all that remains is to get the motor home ready and all the "stuff" for Vacation Bible Schools, Crossroads Crusades, etc. gathered together and in place. Then, there is always the question "what did we forget?" And believe me there is always something very important (usually written down on a list somewhere that gets misplaced) that get's forgotten. We not only take the usual - food, clothes, etc. - but have to bring the "office" with us. It is always a challenge. But as we get ready and check things off the many lists, we pray that we will have safety on the highway, and above all a great harvest of souls for the Lord Jesus.
Ministry Update January - March 2007

January was a beautiful month. We had lots of sunshine and temperatures in the 50's and 60's. But winter wasn't over. February brought us lots of cold weather and lots of snow. On the evening of February 3rd we were watching the news and the long list of church closings on Sunday. I believe that was a first to see that most of the area churches were closed. We did get about 24 inches of snow! But, it was so pretty to see all the trees and everything covered. Our daughter, Cari, is getting married in April and we had a bridal shower all planned BUT she couldn't fly out of De Moines nor could the plane have landed in Grand Rapids! So it, too, was postponed. Now it is March and we are already beginning to see signs of spring. How quickly time passes us by.
Dolly's Ministry Update for the end of 2006

Dear Friends, it has been quite some time since I have sent a ministry up-date. It has been impossible for me to keep up this year and I apologize. It was a wonderful, but busy, year of ministry. We praise the Lord for the good Vacation Bible Schools, Cowboy Camps and Crossroads Crusades that have been the highlights of our life.
“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” (Matthew 5:43-45) (Read by Max McLean.
